1.[single version] (3:11) 2.Howl (4:03) 3.Perfect [acoustic] (3:33) 4.Blowing Bubbles [extended remix] (5:46)

Fourth - and probably least remembered single from the highly sucessful Jollification album. A shame, as it's a fine example of the lazy-afternoon feeling that Ian Broudie (and his various sidemen) traded in at their best.
The opening lyric, "See the river's filled with rain, I wish it could be blue again," was bizzarely interpreted by the Tory party as an endorsement, a suggestion refuted by Broudie.
When I bought this from the bargain bin at WH Smith, I was greatly impressed by Howl; listening back to it now, it's less than great but perfectly acceptable, and the middle eight is neat "How do you feel? I don't know!".
The alleged "acoustic version" has electric guitars on it.
The remix of Blowing Bubbles, originally from 1992's Sense album is, alas, exactly what gives remixes a bad name: shorn of the lead vocals and dragged out to nigh on six minutes, it didn't sound very good at the time and eight years later it sounds dated as well as dull.
The Lightning Seeds haven't released new material since 1999's disappointing Tilt album, although Broudie was apparently seen working on new tracks this summer. Meanwhile, he's returned to his former job as a producer, his most prominent recent clients being The Coral.

Sony's official site is as blandly corporate as you'd expect, though there's a video clip of Perfect in the discography area.
This unofficial page has more to offer, including the artwork for both formats.
